La Salle Teacher Michael McNamara '63 Honored

La Salle Academy graduate and current math and computer science teacher Michael McNamara ’63 has been named as the recipient of the Distinguished Lasallian Educator Award for the 2010-11 school year.
The award is given annually to three teachers in the District of Eastern North America (DENA) who “exemplify the ideals of St. John Baptist de La Salle, Patron Saint of Christian Teachers of Youth.” Mr. McNamara will officially receive the award at the Huether Conference in mid-November in Cincinnati.

Mr. McNamara was nominated for the for the award by the La Salle Academy Lasallian Ministry Team/Team Coordinator Brother Frederick Mueller and La Salle President Brother Michael Mc Kenery.
The award is sponsored by the Regional Education Board, an arm of Christian Brothers Conference in the name of all Lasallians of the United States/Toronto Region.
